This
Dominican convent was founded in 1698 by Captain
Rodríguez Carrasco, a resident of Teguise.
The symbols of this order are displayed over the
entrance to the right in this double facade. The
interior houses two naves separated by four arches
of red and black quarry stone. A beautiful indigenous
style altar can be found in one of the apses. Today,
the convent serves as a contemporary art gallery
exhibiting works by internationally renowned artists.
